Trade union

ISS, as one of the largest providers of building services, and UNI Global Union signed a new, comprehensive agreement on 3/06/2008 which will allow organised unions in all ISS companies, guarantee trade union access to all staff and provide assurance that the employer will not oppose such organisation.
ISS furthermore affirms that the trade unions will for this purpose select the simplest procedure provided for under national legislation. In this new agreement (the new pioneer agreement substitutes the agreement concluded in 2003), ISS undertakes to annually pay EUR 100,000 into a jointly managed fund and to contribute towards improving the standards in certain markets.
Both the labour and organisational rights of the workers and employees are a salient ISS concern. As one of the world’s largest employers with around 535,000 employees and daily new recruitments, ISS strives to act as a global leader in its sector in terms of raising standards and improving working conditions. Whether to join a trade union or not shall be the sole decision of ISS staff. The corporation shall, however, offer its staff the option of this decision in the optimal way - this is at the core of the agreement.
UNI Global Union (headquartered in Nyon, Switzerland) is a global federation of unions in the skills and services sector, with 15 million members in 1,000 trade unions from over 140 countries across the globe.
